Starlit perches atop Weligama Hills, designed by architect Shyamika Silva of SWPlus Architects, the first-ever winner of the Geoffrey Bawa Trust Award for Excellence in Architecture. This five-bedroom villa merges sleek modernism with Sri Lanka’s lush southern landscapes, offering sweeping 360° views of the Indian Ocean, cinnamon plantations, and rolling tropical hills. Every detail balances contemporary design with hilltop serenity, creating a luxurious and inviting retreat.
Each bedroom opens onto a private balcony or garden, capturing panoramic vistas and natural light. Modern comforts include floor-to-ceiling windows, open-plan living areas, and a 20-metre infinity-edge pool that seems to float above the hills. Everything you need to know
The ground floor features a double-height living area with floor-to-ceiling windows, a dining area that seats 10 guests, a fully equipped chef’s kitchen with oven, microwave, coffee machine, dishwasher, pantry and wine fridge, and one king-size bedroom with ensuite and garden access.
The mezzanine and second floors are accessible via elevator and staircase and feature a TV lounge and recreation area with pool table. The second floor has a master king bedroom with ensuite and bathtub, one additional king bedroom, and two twin bedrooms with ensuites; all rooms open onto private balconies with panoramic views.
Outside, there is a 20-metre infinity-edge pool with sun deck, outdoor dining and barbecue area, and parking for three to four vehicles. Yoga sessions and spa treatments are available on request.
