Beautifully designed house and stunning location with the sweetest caretaker and cook and excellent food. What's not to like? We were spoilt rotten!

A hidden gem in a lovely peaceful spot right by the river. Beautiful birds to watch as you swim in the lovely pool. It’s a very natural and at one with nature, such a beautiful place to retreat to and the housekeeper and cook were just fantastic. They were so kind and welcoming. They looked after us so well, making the rooms every day so lovely and cooked the most delicious food. We had Breakfast and dinner three days and it was superb! We would highly recommend!

Me and the family had the pleasure of staying at this villa recently. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the stunning surroundings and a sense of tranquility that instantly put us at ease.
One of the highlights of our stay was the exceptional service provided by Nandasiri, the caretaker of the villa. Not only did he ensure that we were well taken care of, but he also prepared the most delicious meals for us. Every meal he prepared was a culinary delight.

River House Dambulla was a sensational start to our Sri Lanka journey. The hospitality, food quality and organisation from the hosts was on another level. Everyone who visits Sri Lanka should stay at least 3 nights at this beautiful place!!
